With the widespread use of info boxes, some users have begun removing information from articles that is found in the info boxes, such as birth/death years for characters or weapons loadouts for ship classes. This seems like a bad idea, given that we may eventually allow users to hide info boxes and that it makes the articles less complete. --SparqMan 16:19, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree, infoboxes should be used to supplement article text, not replace it. One exception, however, would be some of the planet articles – I don't think we should include technical details such as diameter, orbital/rotation period, and such in article text as they're difficult to integrate without really breaking the flow of the article. Regarding removing character birth/deaths, that was discussed a while back over on the Wookieeproject Characters talk page, though of course it's open to re-discussion. RMF 17:25, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
