I've switched to the new skin, now that they've set it to overflow the ad pane rather than eating content space (which is the only reason I'm not raising hell about it being the default for newbies), but I've noticed a few bugs/missing features:
- {{Eras}} doesn't work. At all. This is bad.
- The magnifying glass in the search box is in a different place on IE and Firefox. I'd assume the Firefox version is correct.
- Special:Top/most_popular should be set to exclude userpages. This is easily abusable by the Myspacers that the real users all hate.
- Special:Top/community should exclude bots.
- The "Discuss this page" link goes to the "no such page" message rather than a blank edit box. Also, it was nice having pages with no discussion having a redlink there.
- Sikon says he's missing italics in Firefox 3.

- Hi... couple of comments.
- I think the skin you're looking at is a modification to the smoke skin by wookieepedians... we didn't create it. What I notice when I log in is the search field extending out of the search box and the search icon in the wrong place (as you noted). Couple of other small things like that. For the one we release, those should be ok.
- I'll send your note about {{Eras}} to the guys to have a look at. If you see any other issues like this, please send to me directly... the more we know about these the better.
- Good point on excluding user pages from the top content sections... those are going to be in a sidebar box in the v2 version of the skin anyway... not on top.
- Yes, we need an indicator if a talk page is empty or not.
- In v2 of the skin edit/discuss ... watch/delete/protect/history/etc ... are all at the top of the article again... not in a sidebar box.
Overall comment: we're getting there and it's getting better. When we first shopped around the new skin design, lots of people said it was great but we knew the only way to get real feedback was to actually get it out there. Since then, we've gotten lots of feedback and have worked that back in... I'm a lot happier with v2. I know once we get v2 out there, we'll get another round of feedback from everyone, etc. That said, there are new elements like the top content section. As I mentioned above, though, the top content will start to live in the sidebar (it's interesting, lots of visitors are using those top content links so it's working to expose more pages to visitors). We'll have some interesting social tools coming out, too. I'll have more about all this in the next week or two.
