This has been bugging me for some time. The following articles mention the Fromm Gang using spaarti cloning cylinder produced clones:

As far as I'm aware the only reference to clones in the appropriate episodes of Star Wars: Droids comes in Escape Into Terror when Jord Dusat, after being interrupted by two guards says something to R2-D2 and C-3PO along the lines of "Come on you clones, I mean clowns. Heh, you're as slow as sand sloths." Now, all the Annoo-dat Blue except for the three named ones do look the same, and maybe this line was supposed to indicate that they are clones, but this could also be explained as bad animation.

The clone stuff was added by a user who also reckoned Tig Fromm was in the Return of the Jedi novel, which he wasn't.

Following a discussion on IRC we decided that this was probably fanon and safe to remove, but I can't check every source. If anybody knows a source which can confirm this, say so, otherwise I'm going to remove it all by the end of the week. Green Tentacle (Talk) 13:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

  • I haven't heard it before, but it could possibly be something from one of Abel's articles. -- Ozzel 17:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Was this the same editor I had an exchange with on Talk:Mosep Binneed a while back? Some of his additions were highly speculative, probably too much for this wiki, but appeared to come from somewhere....—Silly Dan (talk) 23:27, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Mrwuggs, yeah, that's the one. Green Tentacle (Talk) 23:34, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
        • I actually think most of this information is from Abel's Droids: The Adventures of Artoo-Detoo and See-Threepio in Dungeon magazine. All of the references tying Droids into larger canon are probably from there. The Fromm Family's apparent death, and other dubious statements might be from there. However, don't quote me on it, cause well...I've never seen the article. :P But c'mon it's Abel! Cull Tremayne 23:39, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
  • I have read the article and I can't remember it. I could be mistaken, of course. I have to check it. --Sompeetalay 23:42, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Jaymach and I have both checked the article: no mention of clones is made. —Silly Dan (talk) 03:41, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
      • But in The Trigon Unleashed, Vlix Oncard calls his goons "clones." So the Spaarti thing is probably fanon, but there is evidence that the Fromm gang did have some clones working for him. (The mention of "clones...I mean, clowns" in the previous episode seemed to me to be referring to R2-D2 and C-3PO.) —Silly Dan (talk) 04:06, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Hmm, so he does, "Alright you clones." Never noticed that before. Well, I'll remove the Spaarti bits. Do you think that's enough to say for sure that they used clones, or should I remove it and add it as a theory in Behind the scenes? Green Tentacle (Talk) 23:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
          • Okay. All references to clones removed as unverified and not really relevant to the articles they were in anyway. I've added a behind the scenes section to Fromm Gang, in which I've presented this as an unconfirmed theory. If and when we ever find a source to confirm it, it can be moved into the main article.
