After noticing the era symbols being used on the Main page an idea popped in my head. What if we put era symbols (around that size but maybe smaller) on the right side of the title bars on articles, similar to the way we have the featured article stars on the appropriate articles? If a character exists in multiple eras such as Chewie, then the title bar would have all of the era symbols he existed in. For more general articles such as The Galaxy, which exists in all eras, we could make a symbol that represents all eras. And then we could use the Infinities symbol as seen on the main page for all non-canon elements. Though it would take ages to update all of the articles, I bet it could be done if everyone's up to it. Sound good? DarthMaul431 01:22, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Quite, but pratical wrangling seems harder to manage. Where exactly would this be? How big? Etc. If someone could draw something up however, wherever, I could consider it more specifically.--The Erl of the SH Archive/Era symbols for articles talk What I do 02:11, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I think, quite frankly, we have more important cleanup/expansion tasks to work on. This one would take forever...—Silly Dan (talk) 18:25, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Here is an example of what I mean (obviously they would be made smaller so that gap wouldn't appear above the title and they could possibly be inverted so that the symbols themselves are black).

  • Take forever it will, you say, mmm? Patient, a Jedi should be. Anyway, the source of this page check you should. "old, imp, reb, new, njo, leg, inf", the codes are. - Sikon [Talk] 13:24, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
  • It looks good. Even though it'll take forever, I think it looks nice with the eras on the page. I'll be willing to update pages, anyone else? DarthMaul431 20:47, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
    • What about articles about planets, etc, that last all eras?--The Erl of the SH Archive/Era symbols for articles talk What I do 03:35, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
      • As I said, maybe we can make an all eras logo (maybe something that looks like a swirling galaxy). Either that or we only use the era symbols for the eras that a planet appeared in. DarthMaul431 05:38, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
        • Just realized, what are we going to do about the articles that have the featured star on them? I tried it on Palpatine but the star overlaps the era symbols. DarthMaul431 06:05, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
          • Maybe just leave it blank? Lonnyd 07:32, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
            • See the source of this page again. As for planets, I think we should just leave it blank. - Sikon [Talk] 09:34, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
              • I like this idea and have put it onto all the Jedi pages post-movies, plus some other articles I've worked on. Will take a while but definitely looks good.--Eyrezer 10:18, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
              • To throw my two cents in, I think it's an interesting idea in theory, but looks pretty ugly in practice. This definitely should be brought up in consensus track before it's fully implemented. —MarcK [talk] 11:20, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
                • As for the Palpatine article, I had originally removed it, but I recently re-added it because the star is not completely over the New Republic era symbol. You can still see the majority of it. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 11:21, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Some of the articles that I put eras sybols on were reverted. I just want to be clear on what type of articles they are suitable for. DarthMaul431 01:24, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
