Why are they up there? Is it just me or do they just serve to clutter and obscure half the right side of the page? Kuralyov 02:04, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I did this because I thought 1. It would look nice and organized. 2. It would help remove the excess space at the bottom of the EU box (which was brought up as a concern before at the discussion for this newmain page). Adamwankenobi 02:10, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Is there any way to make it so the pictures are links to the actual era pages? Kuralyov 02:27, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • It looks horrible in Firefox at least... The images are not aligned and are covering up the links to the various eras. - Breathesgelatin 02:36, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
    • I can only get them to line up by using a crazy huge font size. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:37, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
      • Ditto. Kuralyov 02:38, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
        • And I can't get them to line up at all. Is there any way to "force" alignment? (this would also come in handy on the anonymous vehicles page)--The Erl of the SH Archive/Era symbols on main page talk What I do 03:07, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
          • I'm using MSN Explorer and they're aligned and look fine. DarthMaul431 03:14, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
          • Hey, they like fine to me. Did someone fix it, or is it 'cause I'm using internet explorer? --DarthCow--Talk Email 03:45, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
            • I just tried it in IE, and it looks fine, but it doesn't work in Firefox. -- Ozzel 04:53, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
            • I'm using Firefox and it looks fine, though something like this should definitely be discussed beforehand. Removed. —MarcK [talk] 09:07, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
              • Sikon has apparently fixed this now for those Firefox users. So... what is the general opinion of this addition to the main page? As I said above, I think it is a great way to represent the EU on the main page. It (along with the category links below it) provides quick and easy access to specific fiction from specific eras, it gives the main page a more organized look (IMHO), and removes excess space from the bottom of the template. I say it should be on the main page. Adamwankenobi 15:27, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I think we could probably move the WOTM/Improvement Drive boxes up to fill in that blank spot. Kuralyov 15:48, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Once Sikon fixed it, I actually liked it. Maybe someone should put it on consensus track? - Breathesgelatin 17:21, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Why is Pre-Republic continually added there? It's not a publishing era, nothing is set there, and the quetsion mark looks stupid and out of place. Kuralyov 00:42, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
    • True, but official Star Wars works have mentioned and given information on this era. Although not an officially recognized publishing era, it is an officially recognized era. The purpose of the main page is to direct our readers to useful information; Although the pre-republic era is not an official publishing era, itis an era, so it should be listed on the main page. Adamwankenobi 00:49, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
      • Going by that logic, Great Manifest Period, Draggulch Period, et al should be on the main page too. And since they aren't, there is no reason that we should give the false impression that Pre-Republic is something it isn't, by mixing it in with official eras. Kuralyov 00:53, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
        • No, those are specific eras of SW history, not general periods. The Pre-Republic era has the same characteristics as the publishing eras in that it covers a general period of time over. Adamwankenobi 00:58, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

As I mentioned on Talk:Old Republic era, Pre-Republic might look less out of place on the main page if all of our era articles were rewritten to be primarily in-universe. I think the names of all of them could be considered in-universe terms, except for Infinities and maybe Legacy era. —Silly Dan (talk) 03:13, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

The "Pre-Republic" link on the main page needs to goEdit
