I understand that there are already some summaries and previews of some of the novels, but perhaps we could also add a short preview? A page or two of the novel to give viewers a feel of the novel, or to allow them to get a hint at what it will be like in terms of reading level, how dark the novel is, etc. Just a thought, wanted to know what others think, I can do perhaps an excerpt for a novel and then see how it goes, then we can decide from there? Whatever you want, I'm just throwing some ideas out there. Trenton Vinh 15:32, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't know, but I guess there are copyright issues with that. - TopAce 15:33, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

you may be right, but I don't think it applies to us because we aren't making any money off of it, and we are doing it only to benefit Lucasarts products right? I'm not too great on that legal stuff....so you are probably right. Trenton Vinh 15:42, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Same thing as the logic behind pirated music. NO ONE is making money off it, including the people who SHOULD BE- the owners of the copyright, in this case Lucas Licensing and the authors. We can link to excerpts that are posted on StarWars.com, but as for posting our own excerpts, I think that would be far overstepping "fair use". --Wildyoda-talk-contribs-Yoda cartoon 20:33, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
    • This is definitely against copyrights. We even discussed before if the publisher's summaries were too much, but that got resolved. You'll notice that anytime an excerpt is provided from an official source, it has a copyright notice saying not to reproduce it in any form or fashion. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:42, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
