Isn't there a policy on lines such as, "His fate is unknown.", etc? Because I'm seeing a few popping up here and there. I know there're supposed to be loose ends with some characters, but I didn't think we could comment to that extent.Tocneppil 07:45, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Wookieepedia:Manual of Style actually says we shouldn't use it. However, there are a few cases where a character's story is clearly unfinished as of their last appearance. For example, PD-28 is last seen searching for his old master, but we never learn if he found him because he only appears in the one episode. Likewise, Nas Ghent was last seen being told to organize a fighter squadron, but the comic he appeared in was cancelled before we could find out how that went. We should use it very sparingly, of course: partly because we could use it on any character who doesn't die "on-screen", and constantly repeating it would be silly. —Silly Dan (talk) 17:37, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Should we be a little more creative in expressing that point, then, instead of just falling back on saying "Their fate is unknown"?Tocneppil 18:05, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
      • Creative and specific, yes (so say "It is not known if he survived his mission", "It is unknown if she survived the battle", etc.) —Silly Dan (talk) 18:08, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
        • But what about implied off-screen deaths, specifically the case of the Republic-era Jedi and Order 66, but there's also the example of Baron Ormon Tagge, who had been placed in suspended animation at the end of his story arc in Marvel Comics' Star Wars run.Tocneppil 18:15, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
        • Whoops. Just double-checked my Marvel Star Wars back-issues; Tagge got toasted fighting Luke, so he's down for good.Tocneppil 04:26, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
