I'm compiling a list of official foreign language translations of the titles of the Star Wars movies with the goal of documenting them here on Wookieepedia. If you know the foreign language titles of some of the movies, please at them here, using this template. KEJ 11:28, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Okay, so we got Danish, German, Norwegian, and Polish..... there are still many foreign language translations to account for. Your help will be most appreciated. KEJ 19:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
    • I'm sure you already thought of this, but did you look at imdb? Though it doesn't have literal translations back to English, it does have a decent list of the titles as well as sources (box, poster, etc). Uxviii 21:37, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
      • I've added a lot of Revenge of the Sith titles, but I don't know the translations of them. Hopefully somebody can help out with that. --Xwing328(Talk) 03:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
        • There are also a lot of eastern languages, such as Chinese, that I have not been able to do becuase of the scripts. --Xwing328(Talk) 03:42, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
        • Upon googling a little, you can also find similar articles from the Ep1 and Ep2 releases. I've transcribed all I could (I'm limited to non-asian character sets as well), but I'd like someone to proof them before pasting them over to the list, since I don't speak any of these languages and may not fully grasp the nuances. I skipped the languages already on the list:
          • Bulgarian: 2 = Kλohиpahиte Atakybat
          • Estonian: 2 = Kloonide Rünnak
          • Finnish: 1 = Pimea Uhka 2 = Kloonien Hyökkäys
          • Greek: 1 = Haopath Aпeiλh 2 = H Eniθeςh Tωn Kλωnωn
          • Hungarian: 2 = A Klónok Támadása
          • Italian: 2 = L'attacco dei Cloni
          • Romanian: 2 = Atacul Clonelor
          • Russian: 2 = Ataka Kлohob
          • Swedish: 1 = Det Mörka Hotet 2 = Klonerna Anfaller
          • Turkish: 2 = Klonlar'in Saldirisi // Uxviii 06:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
        • Alright, I got an idea: I went to foreign-language Wikipedia articles and copied names from pages and templates! Fun stuff. Here's the few I got:
        • I think that's all I have in me for now. Uxviii 07:37, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
          • Good work Uxviii. I added the Thai and Hebrew (took awhile to get it to display correctly). Still haven't done the Japanese. --Xwing328(Talk) 22:16, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
            • I did the Japanese. I accidentally pasted the ep3 title on ep2's link on my list above, but I made sure to do it the right way on KEJ's page. That's why I provided the links too after all! In any case, do babelfish translations count? I doubt we have many around here who can speak the various Asian languages. Running through the Japanese set, we have these: "Phantom [something]" (it can't translate the last four characters), "Attack of clone", "Vengeance of CIS", "The desire which becomes new", "Counterattack of empire", and "Return of [something]" (I'd guess those characters are a transliteration of 'Jedi' into katakana, but I have no proof). • Personally, I think we should put up whatever translations we can get. We may need to make a note about how it was translated though. Also, I think it would be nice to add some pics of the foreign titles to the page. Comments? --Xwing328(Talk) 17:37, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
