For some reason, all the quotes (all with the {{quote}} template, I mean) appear gray on my screen. Has something happened, or is it just my settings? --Tinwe 15:13, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

  • I guess your settings. They are the same to me as they ever were. - TopAce 15:23, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
  • It's happened to me, too. Kuralyov 15:24, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
  • I think those gray ones are a new additon. They include the source. Hover the mouse over the gray part and see. -Finlayson 15:25, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Strange. Quote of the Day on the main page and all the QOTDs in the archive appear normal (i.e. black) to me, but everything else is gray, quote-wise. And I mean the whole quote, not just parts of them, so hovering the mouse doesn't change anything. I haven't changed my settings, as far as I know, so what could be behind this? It's a bit irritating. --Tinwe 15:39, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
  • I was just going to pop this question myself when I saw this. It appears it happened everywhere, it could be as TopAce says in some strange way. But the source is not included in those quotes I have hovered. Anyway, it's not a problem. In fact, I think it looks nicer with gray quotes instead of black ones. It's much easier to separate or notice the gray-cursive text. Lorth Needa 15:41, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Well, I guess you can get used to everything. ;) --Tinwe 15:46, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
      • You're completely right;D Lorth Needa 15:56, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
        • You're also right that I put it a strange way. You're also right about it looking better. - TopAce 17:44, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
          • I don't see the problem with them being gray. Yellow, pink, or green maybe.--Darth OblivionComlinkSith Emblem 18:00, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
            • Oh ya, that was me. Sorry bout that. When I updated the quote template, I just copied and pasted the code from my test template. I forgot that I had been playing around with the text color. I can change it back to pure black if it is a problem.–SentryTalk 18:37, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
              • It's not a problem really, I just wanted to know what happened. I think the gray color makes the quotes a bit harder to read, but maybe that's just me and my eyes. If the others want to keep the color as it is, I'm okay with that. I for one have never liked sudden changes, but I'll live. *lol* --Tinwe 19:12, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
              • Keep it something other than black. A different color will help in finding the unsourced quotes. -Finlayson 19:42, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
                • At the moment, the text color will render as dark gray regardless of whether or not source information has been provided… –SentryTalk 20:38, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
                • Anyway, I just changed the text color back to black so that we can fully discuss possible changes before anything is implemented.–SentryTalk 20:47, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
                  • Got you. I had thought the sourced quote used a different template. Thanks. Finlayson 20:56, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Sounds like a good idea. Now, could we agree about a color? Don't forget about adding + or - to the total sum of the colors. + one if you agree, and - one for against. The same system as on the QOTD page. Ok let's vote! (feel free to add any color that hasn't been listed). Lorth Needa 14:33, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

  1. Support. If it doesn't help us find unsourced quotes, there's no reason to make the color different. jSarek 22:04, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

  6. Black is good for me. Maybe we could add an ID to the div-tag (<div id=quote" ...</div>) in the template, so every wookieepedian can change the color individually in his personal monobook.css? --Craven 07:58, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
