In the vein of Forum:Where'd you get your username from?, I decided it'd be interesting to find out how people stumbled across the site. So, spill. Unsigned comment by Jorrel Fraajic (talk • contribs).

  • Happened upon a link in a forum I used to frequent (SWGB Heaven). Started actually contributing when I couldn't find RM-09 Alliance shuttle on the Wook (it has sense been created), and have stuck around ever sense. JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 21:45, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
    • I looked up Mara Jade on Google and found Wookieepedia. I then kept looking up stuff on it.I joined a couple weeks after. Mecenarylord 22:05, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  • I think I was looking up something on TFN when I stumbled across an article about the site. —Xwing328(Talk) 22:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Pure Google. I used to use CUSWE religiously, then took a break from Star Wars for a few years, and when I came back, the Wook was here for me. I actually browsed casually for quite some time before signing up. Oh, and to Wikia: Plenty of Star Wars fans can find us, and by extension, you, simply by Googling almost any topic in the EU. So get over your Google hits paranoia. Graestan(Talk) 23:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
      • Kind of similar to Grae, I took a break from SW after how disappointed I was with Ep II, then following Ep III I got back in the mood and starting browsing Wikipedia's articles. I can't remember which article I was looking at exactly, but I was disappointed in how limited its content was until I saw an external link at the bottom of the page reading "Wookieepedia." • A random google hit, if I remember correctly, for some obscure Tales of the Jedi reference. Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 02:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  • A friend mentioned it, then I Googled it. I lurked for about a year, then decided to join. Trak Nar 06:38, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Hmmm... I'll have to think about this one. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

      • Well I couldn't simply say I thought of it and found it could I? I didn't even have the name until Chad came along. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:18, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Couldn't find something in the Databank so resorted to Google and found it here. Green Tentacle (Talk) 12:35, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
    • I was reading about Yoda on Wikipedia way back in February 2006 and found this site. I browsed it for a few months, growing more interested, until I joined on September 24. Chack Jadson (Talk) 21:43, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  • I...don't actually remember how, myself. All I remember was finding it in mid-late 2005 and browsing religiously (at school, no less, when the move from Wikicities to Wikia happened) until I bought the OT Limited Edition boxset way back in early 2006, then collecting the books about a year later. • I found it via tfn, I think. The main attraction at the time and its major advantage over CUSWE was that it had images. --Eyrezer 03:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Riffs told me about a way to save our Wikipedia articles from deletion by transferring them to "Star Wars Wiki." I was skeptical. -LtNOWIS 01:17, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
  • I found it while surfing Wikipedia for Star Wars info...and I have loved my life more everyday since.Tank 16:26, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Stumbled across a link to it on Wikipedia about three years back. Thought 'what's this'? The rest is history... Unit 8311 19:46, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Made a custom Green Leader skin mod for Jedi Academy a few years ago (plug!), and I wanted to include a short character bio in the accompanying readme file. Google pointed me here. -- SM-716 talk? 20:04, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Looked for Star Wars info on Wikipedia, then found Wookieepedia. Left a few comments on talk pages the first night, and joined one or two days after. Darth Oompy 20:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

  • In July 2005, I was arguing against the VFD for some Star Wars article on Wikipedia, when someone pointed me over here. Adamwankenobi 06:29, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I actually don't remember, but I'm glad I ended up here. Had lots of fun adding info, although I haven't been too active lately. KEJ 09:54, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I remember when we finally got broadband, I surfed for days, and remembered wondering what race Darth Maul was. I whacked it in Wikipedia, was brought here, and have never regretted any time on here since. I've finally become a member, and I still find Zabrak interesting........Darth Xadún 11:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Honestly, I'm not quite sure. But I'd wager a few credits on looking at a Wikipedia article and seeing a link to here. The rest is history, I suppose. --Revan Averre 08:40, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I was looking for info on Shaak Ti. I went on Wikipedia with little help, until I accidently clicked on an editor's Userpage. Thats where I found the link over to her article here. Purpilia 01:42, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
