How do you post those boxes with all the sections on them into your user page? They're included in the beginning of most articles. I can't find the code to it, though. Unsigned comment by Captain Ikrit (talk • contribs).

  • You can divide up a page into sections using equals signs (see Help:Editing for advice on that). If you have more than three sections, a contents box will appear automatically unless you put the code __NOTOC__ in somewhere to turn that option off for that page, or you've supressed that option in your user preferences under "Misc". You can also put the code __FORCETOC__ on a page to force a table of contents to appear. —Silly Dan (talk) 14:53, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! I am just so used to HTML this coding seems like a foreign language... - Captain Ikrit (talk) 10:57 AM, July 28, 2006.

  • Actually, a lot of HTML commands work in MediaWiki code too — they just aren't always recommended, if a wikicode equivalent will do the same thing... 8) —Silly Dan (talk) 14:59, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
    • If you have more than three headings/subsections, __TOC__ can also be used to place a 'Table Of Contents' wherever you wish. Check out Help:Magic words for more info.–SentryTalk 00:20, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
