Simple question. What is a TIE Wing? 3 squads? 6 squads? unknown? Whats the generally accepted number?
- From the Star Wars Sourcebook: A wing consists of six squadrons, which consists of three flights, which consists of two elements, which consists of two fighters - that is, 72 fighters in total. jSarek 22:11, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- For a break down in specifics, a standard TIE wing maintained aboard an Imperial Star Destroyer was originally four squadrons of Fighters, one squadron of Bombers, and one squad of Interceptors. later, they changed it to three squads of Fighters, and two squads of Interceptors, retaining a single squad of Bombers. I read that in one of the old Essential Guides. -- SFH 23:05, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yea, a wing consists of 72 TIEs. and the break down is probaly right too
User:Gavin Galicnar Some times they mention that there are about 60 TIE fighters in a TIE wing but maybe I am mistaken.
