I hope I'm not in the wrong forum to talk about this, but I'm having problems uploading an image to Wookieepedia. Every time I try, I get this message:
'The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups: Autoconfirmed users, Administrators, Wikia Staff, Wikia Helpers.'
I did confirmed my Wikia account via e-mail. Unless I'm mistaken, that would mean that I qualify to be an 'Autoconfirmed user', right? If not, then what can I do to resolve the issue?
Start editing. :P Since your only edits so far have been on this page, you have no mainspace edits. You have to have so many mainspace edits to be able to upload a file. Just don't do useless edits just so you can upload it. :p Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 00:59, August 26, 2011 (UTC)
"Autoconfirmed" status requires that your account be at least four days old. It has nothing to do with edits or email. Your account will become autoconfirmed at 17:52 UTC on August 29. After that time, you might be able to upload images, but this wiki has additional requirements in place via the abuse filter, so you might run into that. Not being an admin myself, I can't access the filter(s) in question to see what the requirements in them are. Master Jonathan — Jedi Council ChambersFriday, August 26, 2011, 01:51 UTC

Well, its juste like Cal Jedi said. It seems that I need to edit more before I shall recieve the "priviledge" of uploding images. Being an artist, I must say that I find this requirement very frustrating as I intended to participate mainly by submitting some of my art to this community. I dont know much of the Star Wars universe other than whats in the movies, animated series (SW Clone Wars) and the Star Wars RPG. In fact, most of what I know comes from this site. Therefore, I can't imagine adding anything to what is already there. So basically, this measure shuts me up clear and simple. I move for a removal of this unnecessary measure and let us express ourselves! At least concerning original pieces. Of course, I'm a realist. I don't think that my voice will change anything in the way that 'the powers that be' see things in this matter. So if your curious, I invite you to check up my art in other Star Wars wikis that are more permissive concerning image uploads. As for me, I'll continue consulting this community to look for information and inspiration; because I consider Wookieepedia to be the best Star Wars knowledge resource out there. Please, continue the great work! Frolmaster 19:46, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the compliment. And just so you know, you can't put your own pictures on here anyway, unless it's on your own userpage. Only pictures that are officially from LucasFilm. Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 22:58, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
Indeed. "Original pieces" aren't allowed at all (other than a maximum of three on your userpage), so loosening the edit restriction isn't going to make uploading what you want to upload any easier; the Star Wars Fanon Wiki may be more suited to your goals in this regard. And thank you for the compliment; I hope it's clear that our policies, while occasionally annoying, exist to help us maintain the high standard of quality on this site that you've come to enjoy. jSarek 02:55, August 30, 2011 (UTC)
