This is regarding my search for the character "Jacen Solo". I am currently reading the books about the Yuuzhan Vong and wanted to know what some of the characters looked like. When I got to "Jacen Solo" it shows "Darth Caedus". Thus spoiling the story.
When I looked for "Anakin Skywalker" though it shows that character. And "Darth Vader" is a separate page, just as the characters in the story are referred to as two separate entities. Please for future people doing what I did can you have someone change the characters pages to two separate entities. The Spoiler was massive and I was furious. —Unsigned comment byShayoni (talk • contribs).
While I'm sorry to say it, this just won't change. Following our [Wookieepedia:Spoilers|policy] on spoilers, "a spoiler is considered a spoiler up to and until one month after the official U.S. (or country of origin's) release date of the particular product." Why just one month, you may ask? Because it's an encyclopedia, and if we want to be complete, things can't be considered spoilers forever just because not everyone in the world has read the book many years after its release. The novel Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice, in which Jacen took the name of Caedus, was released in 2007... That's more than five years ago. It's hardly a spoiler. --LelalMekha (talk) 16:09, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Hey there. Wookieepedia's spoiler policy states that information is only a spoiler for one month after its release. It's our responsibility as the world's largest SW encyclopedia to include all information, and that includes information from recently released products. The name "Darth Caedus" has been around for nearly six years now, and if we didn't include that information, we'd be doing a disservice to our readers. Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are not two different pages, and the same is true for every Jedi who became a Sith. The Main Page of Wookieepedia states very clearly at the top: "Warning: this wiki contains spoilers." If you want to avoid spoilers, you should heed that advice. Cheers.
