In the article Duel on Death Star II a user wrote that Lucas stated that Luke has around 8.5 of the Emperor's power, but in Luke's article is stated that he has the same force potential as Anakin, twice as powerful as the Emperor, and thats why both Vader and the Emperor were willing to turn on each other to gain Luke as their apprentice. In the audio comentary of ESB Lucas says that Vader no longer has the power to defeat the Emperor, but Luke has it; Lucas also said in a magazine that "Anakin wasn't what he was supposed to become. But the son could become that." So has Luke the same force potential as Anakin or 8.5 of the Emperor's power? Grand Master Luke 19:20, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Bear in mind Luke hadn't reached his full potential on the second Death Star. His training with Obi-Wan and Yoda was rushed and fragmented. Afer the duel, he studied under Joruus C'baoth and the Ressurected Emperor, and learned from the Jedi Holocron. So at the duel he could be 8.5 of the Emperor's power with the potential of being far greater. Of course, exact numbers are just speculation really, unless there's any canon sources to prove it. I know that during the duel he hadn't reached his full potential, he still had much to learn. But in the article was stated that he had 8.5 of the Emperor's power, but as force potential, just as Lucas said that Vader's power was around 8/10, at leats thats what I understood. So it is correct to assume that Luke has the same force potential as Anakin? Grand Master Luke 15:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. George Lucas has stated that Luke (and Leia I, believe) has the same Force potential as Anakin. But as mentioned above, Luke hadn't reached his full potential during the duel on the Death Star II. Personally, I believe he reached his "zenith" during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Remember, It is all a STORY. Don't get caught up in the details. Otherwise, the essence of the StarWars Legacy is tainted. George created a world in a time when all others were pumping out crap. Don't ruin it. —Unsigned comment by Riridadaecho7 (talk • contribs).
- The thing is, Wookieepedia is all about the detail. And how am I ruining it by explaining? Jasca Ducato Sith Council 19:31, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's the details that make a story good, besides I woudn't ask it if I didn't feel it was important. Grand Master Luke 22:58, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Is it important to ask how many seeds are on a sesame seed bun? no, it's still yummy. Besides, Lucas probably never thought some of these minor details through. So, just take the main idea of the story and run with it. There are always going to be inconsitancies, unless, you rewrite the entire history of StarWars. Yeah, that'd be awesome. Just promise me you'll ask Carrie Fisher not to use a crappy accent.
