The manual of style says "do not include phrases like 'his ultimate fate is unknown' or 'what happened to the ship after that is a mystery.'", yet many articles still have lines very similar to these. I'm wondering if I should delete this line, especially in certain articles where someone has been shot, but is not yet confirmed dead.

Yes. Remove all instances of "fate is unknown." If someone is shot and we don't know what happens until "next time" then leave it at that. "He was then shot by so and so upon blah blah blah." --Redemption(Talk) 04:25, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
