I am wondering why list movie, novel and possibly comic versions of the major films in the Appearances section of articles? I can see where the novel is the first appearance, but otherwise it seems redundant. They really are different forms of the same appearance. I know sometimes there are differences between them but they are really minor overall. -Fnlayson 02:32, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

  • You just answered your own question. Sometimes there are differences. If you can explain to my how we can represent the absence of, say, Ki-Adi-Mundi from the comic version of AOTC without marking the people who are present, I'd love to hear it. Havac 02:49, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
    • That makes sense for cases where there are difference such as that, but not for most everything. -Fnlayson 03:18, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
      • How are people to know then that those others are special occurences, and not in fact something that they are missing from, if you don't list them all Finlayson? —Xwing328(Talk) 03:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
        • I already said a special case makes sense. I just couldn't think of any other than a 1st appearance thing at the time. I think listing the different media versions is redundant unless there's a particular reason to list a novel and/or comic. That's probably how it is done in most cases unless someone gets happy listing every possible version. -Fnlayson 03:51, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
          • But . . . if we don't include the comic if someone doesn't appear in it, and we don't include the comic if someone does appear in it, how the hell does anyone know who's in the comic? Havac 18:25, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
