Forums > Senate Hall archive > SH Archive/New award structure - Source based

How does everyone think about a new limited award system, which is based by source and contributions. Like, say, Havac would be Mr. Force Commander. It would be a way of tipping the hat to those who have contributed a lot to articles related to a certain source. It would also be a way of identifying a user as a certain "guru" of an obscure source. So, say if someone wanted to work on a Force Commander article, they would be able to quickly find Havac and consult him. (Sorry Havac for using you as an example, but...) .... 11:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I like it! Volemlock can be Mr Gamorrean! What an honor ;o) but seriously, cool idea. --Eyrezer 12:43, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
    • Fine by me. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Audience Chamber) 14:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Mr. Force Commander? Does it come with an AT-AT? Havac 21:29, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
        • No, but it comes with a freakin medal for being able to get the camera to move properly! We would have to vote on who takes what award...I would go up for Mister Phantom Menace...It's sad, I had it on one day but I forgot to turn on the speakers, but I didn't realise that the speakers werent on because my head was automatically playing all of the music and sounds...sad. .... 21:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
      • I guess you could call me, Mr. Sarlacc! Brain40 19:01, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
        • Sounds good. Someone should propose an award on the proposals page. - Angel BlueHolocron negwt(Holonet) 23:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
          • I would do that, but what I have in mind isn't a typical award. I don't know how we would go about it, but I think we would have to get a consensus on who is Mr/Mrs what. .... 00:12, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
            • I guess im Mr. IG-88A. Roron Corobb 01:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
              • Well, it would all depend. You would have to nominate yourself first, and then get support. .... 02:51, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
                • Actually, I just looked at the IG-88A history, and yes, you would be Mr. IG-88A. But then, that's not source based. It's really to determine who's an expert in relation to what source. It's acknowledgement and a useful reference tool at the same time. .... 02:53, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
                  • Can I be Mr. Holiday Special? :P Adamwankenobi 02:56, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
                    • When I saw your name in Recent Changes on this forum, I knew straight off that that would be what you would be asking. I don't think anyone is going to challenge you for the title of Mr. Holiday Special. Or the title of Lord Ewoks for that matter. .... 02:58, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Great, now, how do we go about this? .... 03:03, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
    • Should I be taking this to the consensus track? .... 08:22, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
    • Before you do, will we keep the original awards to go along with these? Brain40 10:36, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Awards haven't really been "official" things persay so I don't think there would be a problem with having names. But we will still have the original awards which I waited up to a year to create. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:50, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
        • Yeah, what I had in mind was more of a supplement to the current awards - this being more exclusive and no two people can have the same award. And we would hold a vote on each one - you just can't take a "title". .... 00:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
          • So, consensus track this? .... 00:08, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
