Hello, I am posting this thread for anyone who needs information regarding any of the official prima game guides for star wars video games. I have noticed that something like this is needed, what we need is something much like the TCSWE entry requests page. So I hope this is okay to put here, because I think this would be a great asset for those promoting articles to FA, GA, and CA status.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 21:50, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
I would like to place the first requests:--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 21:50, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
What information is there on Rukil in Knights of the Old Republic: Prima's Official Strategy Guide?--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 21:50, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, there is no new information in the guide that isn't already in the article. OLIOSTER (talk) 06:51, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
- I figured, but I would still like to know what information the guide included about him.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 11:10, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
What information is there on Malcor Brashin in Force Commander: Prima's Official Strategy Guide?--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 21:50, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
Lastly, what information is there on the Guineo species in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter: Prima's Official Strategy Guide?--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 21:50, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
- The species' homeworld is Dohlban (p. 18); "The Guineo species is one of the least intelligent among sentient beings in the galaxy. On the planet Dohlban, Guineo are often used for manual labor or hired off-world as low-level thugs for criminal organizations. They are quite large, standing well over 2 meters, and are extremely strong. However, they are mostly incapable of complex decision making and are therefore relegated to the most simple jobs available" (p. 19). Jango must fight through Guineo in Coruscant's industrial district while seeking out a bounty on Groff Haugg. From his arrival, Jango encounters a Draag supervisor and Guineo worker complaining about their working conditions. The Draag mentions that the cargo ship that has just landed has death sticks and is thus a valuable commodity to be guarded. Jango then comes out of hiding an dstops the Guineo and Draag (p. 67). The Guineos employed in this factory used thermal wrenches as weapons; some had blasters instead (p. 69). There are lots of Guineo thugs he has to fight through, but most of them are generic enemies that probably don't deserve individual articles. En route, if the he captures bounties on several wanted Guineo: 1) Panza Hondi; wanted by the Coruscant Police for beating an off-duty police officer to death; more offered for an alive capture; Jango gets him on a mesh walkway (p. 68). 2) J'Meeb Gumb, wanted by an anonymous entity for using a skifter to cheat in a high-stakes sabacc game; more offered for alive than dead; Jango takes him on another walkway, near a control panel (p. 69). 3) Yol Areebi, wanted by Republic Security Force for providing slaves from Endor to an outlaw mining faciliity in the Cron Drift; bounty higher for alive capture; Jango encounters him in a corridor; a coward, he actually doesn't fight back and allows himself to be captured (p. 72). 4) Jango finally encounters Montross, who has already taken care of Groff Haugg. Jango and Montross fight, Montross runs away, Jango reports the death stick operation to Roz, and they find that Senator Trill is involved (p. 73). That seems to be the extent of it; only featured in one level of the game. ~Savage 19:26, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
I've got the two Podracer guides, (not yet available electronically) should anyone need them. SinisterSamurai 01:27, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
Anyone have the Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: Prima's Official Strategy Guide? Specifically, I'm looking for any information on Alora that the guide might contain. Ruthless Xero(Comment) 18:33, July 19, 2011 (UTC)
Please place comments on my idea below this line:--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 21:50, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Not sure we really need a dedicated page for Prima game guides. The difference between these and, say, the CSWE page you mentioned, is that the CSWE contains very small chunks of data that are easily shared, whereas the game guides could potentially contain gobs and gobs of information. It might be more expedient to just do a "What Links Here?" search on the guide's page, identify the users that have it listed on their pages, and ask them directly for help with digging up info. But this page can't hurt, so good luck. :) ~Savage 19:26, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
- The problem is I couldn't find anyone who had some of the prima guides that I needed sources from, so I tried this idea. If the page becomes overcrowded I guess it could be archived and a new page could be started. Thanks for the info.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 20:13, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
- I agree what Bob said. Did you use "what links here" function? And meh, patience is a virtue. –Tm_T (Talk) 20:30, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
- I sometimes use Senate Hall or Knowledge Bank when I can't track down a source, so no worries there. I was just saying that this probably doesn't need to be a permanent page, like the CSWE page is. ~Savage 20:39, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
