So, round three, baby! It's that time of...umm...quarter: Wookieepedia's quarterly barn-burner. This one's a first for us, a source-based barn-burner rather than a topic-based one. Time to set aside your feelings regarding Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, because we have a whole month of writing and reviewing TPM-related articles ahead of us. So, join in the fun and do something useful for once.

Purpose and overview[]
I think we're all pretty much familiar with the point of these barn-burners, but I'll restate it for any noobs who may wanna participate (and please feel free to). Barn-burners are the Wookieepedia community's way of picking a topic or source that is in need of significant expansion in its articles, and working to update, rewrite, clean up, and promote those articles to CA, GA, and FA status. The reasoning behind the decision to make Episode I sources the official theme of this project is that the film will soon be re-released in 3-D in theaters, and so we need to be sure to have all the info presented in a professional way for anyone coming looking for something related to the hopefully-epic remastering of the original movie.Ideas for projects[]

- Star Wars Episode I: I Am a Pilot
- Do either of these include the Naboo Space Battle, if only in pictures? Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 04:33, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes for Battles to Color. I don't have the book myself, but look here. It's not the whole book, but of the pages on that site it's on 38-42 and 59. NaruHina Talk 18:18, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes for I Am a Pilot as well. No real info, just a picture and a note that Anakin flew in the battle in one of those fighters. ~Savage 22:09, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

- For me, I searched all through the Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide for Orn Free Taa's protocol droid without success. Likewise with Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary. Anyone know in what part of either of those sources that droid is located at?--Cal Jedi (Personal Comm Channel) 14:59, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
- I just searched through Episode I Visual Dictionary but couldn't find any mention or picture of him... Menkooroo 05:43, December 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Neither have I. Thanks for looking through that. I'll probably remove that as a source since it doesn't appear to be in there. Now I just have to find him in the Insider's Guide. I'm fairly certain that he is pictured in there somehwere, since the picture on his page is sourced to the Insider's Guide.--Cal Jedi (Personal Comm Channel) 16:42, December 1, 2011 (UTC)

Ellberger question[]
Not exactly a source request, but does anyone know if Ellberger was among the pilots Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan rescued in The Phantom Menace?--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 23:03, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
Starship Sources[]
Ric Olie appears in these sources, but I don't know if his starfighter does. Could you guys let me know if it's in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Scrapbook, TPM book-and-record, TPM PhotoComic, Star Wars Episode I: I Am a Pilot, Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide, The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, Galaxy of Intrigue, or The Official Star Wars Fact File 31? Sorry that it's such a dump. NaruHina Talk 07:34, December 1, 2011 (UTC)
- I also need to know if any of these refer to Olie as "Bravo One" as opposed to Bravo Leader, if you come across that. NaruHina Talk 07:40, December 1, 2011 (UTC)
- No for both the book-and-record and Galaxy of Intrigue. Master Jonathan — Jedi Council Chambers Thursday, December 1, 2011, 16:59 UTC
Yeb Yeb Adem'thorn's aides[]
Are either of Adem'thorn aides pictured in "Classic Moment" — Star Wars Insider 128? If only one of the two is pictured, please say if it is the one to his left or the one to his right.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 15:59, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Both are pictured, p. 56. No info though. ~Savage 02:54, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
Wan Sandage[]
Apparently, Wan Sandage is mentioned in The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels (perhaps in some section on Podracers?). Can someone check for me, please? And are any other Podracers mentioned? And if so, are any of their species mentioned? Thanks! ~Savage 12:18, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
- It's just a silhouette of his podracer with his name by it. No new info. NaruHina Talk 16:36, December 8, 2011 (UTC)
- The Who's Who booklet has a blurb about him that says that he was considered a "dashing playboy", he started racing when he was two years old, that he was six at the time of the race, and that he hired Beedo. NaruHina Talk 17:10, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Doo[]
According to its article, Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels is a source that may have some information on the Doo and other fish like it. If anyone with this source could find where the mention occurs, that would be greatly appreciated. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:00, December 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, the book has entries on the laa, mee, tee, doo, ray, see, and faa, all on p. 47. The doo entry says, "The doo is a scalefish hunted by both the Naboo colonists and the Gungans. Its meat has become a dietary staple, and is featured in countless recipes." The image is the same as the one in the infobox here, but you can see the back and bottom views as well. Not much to say about those. ~Savage 21:06, December 12, 2011 (UTC)
- Could you expand on the rest of the fish from this reference please? -- Riffsyphon1024 08:40, December 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, books are at home. If someone else has the book, please feel free to jump in. Otherwise, I'll get this around the New Year. ~Savage 16:11, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
- OK, finally back to the books! All from p. 47 of SWC:TP: Laa A laa fish has a phosphorescent flail growing from its spine, which it uses to lure yobshrimp, a favorite meal. Mee Schools of mee, also known as daggerts, breed quickly but don't live very long. They survive by nibbling at the roots of aquatic plants. Some breeds have poisonous spines for protection against hungry hunters. Tee Though dwarfed by some of the truly prodigious predators of the Naboo waters, the tee can nonetheless pose a danger to an unprotected Gungan. The voracious eaters have been known to swallow foolish Gungans who swim beyond the protection of Otoh Gunga. Ray Gungans consider rays worthy sport fish for their size and swiftness. The crescent-shaped caudal fin affords the ray its speed and spectacular leaping ability. See The see fish, also known as a binocular fish, has true binocular vision. Its expandable stomach allows it to eat prey as large as itself. Faa The armored faa, or faynaa, is a fast-moving carnivorous fish. A school of faa can make the deep swamp a very dangerous place for unwitting animals. ~Savage 00:49, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for this info Bob. I'll see how to complete these articles finally. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 01:59, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
Duel of the Fates[]
Apparently these sources contain the theme "Duel of the Fates":
- Star Wars: Episode I Racer (Main Menu)
- Star Wars: Obi-Wan (Alternate version)
- Star Wars: Starfighter (alternate version)
- Definitely during the game's final battle, The Final Assault--When Dallows is dueling the Unidentified mercenary leader.

- LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game
- It appears during the level that depicts the duel. Level 6 of Episode 1, name is "Darth Maul". Its level 5 of Episode 1 in LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Same level name.
- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith video game
- It's in the second half of the introductory I-guess-you-could-call-it-a-cinematic from the ROTS game (XBOX and PS2). It's a bunch of scenes of Obi-Wan and Anakin fighting in story levels. I bought the game for myself (on the wrong system it turns out), so I'll let you know if I hear it elsewhere while I'm unlocking everything again. NaruHina Talk 20:49, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
- It's the first piece that plays during the Duel on Mustafar. NaruHina Talk 21:56, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
I can look up YouTube videos, but that's all the access i have to these sources. If anybody has them, could they look through them to confirm where exactly in the source the theme appears? I need specific scenes/chapters/levels/etc. for the "In the Expanded Universe" section of the article. As a hint, the theme will probably appear during lightsaber duels or during the Second Battle of Theed, if those events are contained in the source. Thanks in advance! MasterFred(Whatever) 16:51, December 8, 2011 (UTC)
- It's also in Star Wars: Battle for Naboo-Main menu. It also plays at the start and during the second bonus mission. Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 04:44, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
- That's perfect! Thanks! MasterFred(Whatever) 20:37, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia[]
- Hello, I would like someone to get me the image of the Swokes Swokes in green on page 202 of the third volume of The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. The image is of Unidentified Swokes Swokes aide 2 (Yeb Yeb Adem'thorn). I know its there but I don't think I can make a decent scan of it.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 00:00, December 13, 2011 (UTC)

Galactic Republic Chancery election, 32 BBY[]
Apparently, Han Solo and the Corporate Sector Sourcebook, the Dark Empire Sourcebook, and The Farlander Papers all contain mentions of Palpatine's election. Would anybody be able to provide me with the manner of these mentions? Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 07:06, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
- Found this in the HSatCSS (page 20): "As the ambitious Senator secretly devised his plans of conquest, he enlisted amoral factions in the Transport and Power ministries and those long tired of Republic meddling in their economic plundering. He used his position to award contracts and funding to those secretly sympathetic to his cause. Upon his election as President of the Republic, he already had wealth and connections enough to guarantee himself unlimited power." --Craven 03:00, December 17, 2011 (UTC)
- From the Dark Empire Sourcebook: p. 8 (Why Do We Fight the Empire?): "There have been no new elections since that of President Palpatine. Emperor Palpatine and his Empire have no legal authority." --Craven 03:19, December 17, 2011 (UTC)
- You can get The Farlander Papers through the Russians. It's a chapter-long speech about Palpatine's rise to power and why he's a jerk. NaruHina Talk 00:38, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Hello all, does anyone have Star Wars Insider Issues 42, 44, 48,and 50, and 51 and can look for pictures, bts info, etc for the Naboo battles (second Theed, space battle, sieges) in general and Bravo Squadron in particular? I also don't have any of the issues of SW Gamer. Thanks!!! And May the Force be with you this holiday season! Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 16:53, December 23, 2011 (UTC)

- Well, I just need to know if the Gamer issues include any behind the scenes info on the movie/characters, or even if they have a scene pictured, like a Darth Maul/Jinn fight. Specifically, I need info for Bravo Squadron, the Naboo Space Battle, and First Battle of Theed, but really anything will help...do they even have stuff like that in Gamer or is it all just listing stats? I do have issue 10, though. Thanks! Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 00:47, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner, here is a start to getting the information you wanted.
- Star Wars Gamer 1:
- Page 10, picture of Bith musicians at the Boonta Eve Classic
- Page 14, there is a picture from the movie of some N-1 starfighters from the Naboo Space Battle, it is the cover page for The Starfighter Trap short story. The short story features pilots Essara Till, Dren Melne, Rhys Dallows, Keela Egast, Evenyl Yob and Ric Olie. It also features Sio Bibble. Till, Olie and Melne are in Bravo Squadron. It’s about Melne betraying Till and the pilots of Echo Flight (includes Dallows, Egast and Nob) in order to steal N-1 starfighters. Melne ends up being killed by the people he is working for, and Till ends up recommending Dallows, Egast, and Nob to Olie as replacements for the deceased Melne. If you want more specific information I will do my best to help.

Shortcut?[]
What do you guys think of using WP:BB or SH:BB as a shortcut to the ongoing barn-burner? NaruHina Talk 20:12, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
- Good idea. It's probably not a good idea to keep changing the target of the redirect, since that would cause confusion a few months down the road if someone links to the shortcut in a comment somewhere (e.g. "wait, what are you referring to? I don't see that there"). However, something like WP:BB1, WP:BB2, WP:BB3 for this one, and so on would work. Master Jonathan — Jedi Council Chambers Tuesday, November 29, 2011, 20:22 UTC
- I agree; BB3 would be a good one for this particular burner. Perhaps Wookieepedia:Barn Burner could be a general disambig-ish page with the WP:BB shortcut. ~Savage 12:52, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
- WP:BB3 and WP:BBTPM are now shortcuts here. I'm not sure how or where to make a generic clearinghouse Barn Burner archive page (with WP:BB its shortcut), though. ~Savage 23:29, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
[P]odracing[]
Hey, guys. Well, we have three noms up at the moment, all of which talk about Podracing. Or is that podracing? Basically, I was just wondering what the current stylistic convention was in SW-dom. In the 1999-era sources (the primary ones for things like pilots, pods, etc.), the sport, the profession, and the vehicles are consistently capitalized. But I think that's daft, and I wonder if Lucasfilm has wised up to that. Does anyone know of any recent sources that talk about the sport, and if so, do they write it with an uppercase or lowercase P? ~Savage 12:52, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
- Rebel Force: Target and the CSWE, both published in December 2008, capitalize it. I don't know of anything more recent than those. Master Jonathan — Jedi Council Chambers Wednesday, November 30, 2011, 17:52 UTC
- FWIW, its capitalized in Shadow Games. Can't get much more recent than that. Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 00:08, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
Darth Maul[]
I think we need to give Darth Maul's article some love being 2012 is pretty much The Year of the Maul. Thoughts?DjMack 03:07, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
- Go ahead. Go through the article and tidy things up, add info, add appearances and sources, reference existing info, do whatever. Maybe some more people will join in. I highly doubt it will be taken to the FAN, but there's no harm in fixing it up some. MasterFred(Whatever) 22:51, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
Possible appearances[]
What is the policy for possible appearances? Bravo Flight A really is only mentioned in the TPM manga, but Bravo Squadron itself appears in many sources. So should the Bravo Squadron appearances be listed as "possible" in the Bravo Flight A article? Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 22:01, December 16, 2011 (UTC)
- I think that it's fair to say that Bravo Flight A appears in the film, the novelization, the comic adaptation, and the photocomic --- (First identified as SH Archive/Project The Phantom Menace: Wookieepedia's Third Barn-Burner!) after the Manga appearance would probably be the best way to do it. As for the Sources that mention Bravo Squadron: I'd personally say no. A mention of the Alliance Fleet isn't a possible mention or an indirect mention of any of the starfighter wings that make it up. Ellberger[]
I am at a loss at what to do next with the Ellberger article. I do not know for certain if she was rescued by Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan or if she even launched from the hangar later in the movie. Does anyone have any ideas on how to write this part of the biography for her? I feel that I should mention what is happening to the squadron, but I can't say anything speculative about her being a part of any of these events. I also don't want a paragraph talking about her squadron without Ellberger being mentioned at all. Any suggestions?--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 17:14, December 18, 2011 (UTC)
- If she's only seen in the space battle at the end, then there's probably no reason to assume that she's rescued from the hangar at the beginning. As for launching from the hangar during the battle... where else would she come from? If she's in the air, then reason seems to suggest that she was on the ground too, no? Menkooroo 18:37, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's what I thought, just making sure.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 00:05, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Per the CCG "It's On Automatic Pilot" card, found here, Olie sent out a message to all N-1s in the area to come to their aid, so not all the ones present at the battle had to come from the hangar. However, in Star Wars: Starfighter and Battle for Naboo, Bravo Squadron entered the battle as a united front, so you might use that to say they all came from the same place. NaruHina Talk 00:44, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
- It seems that she might not have flown from the hangar then, perhaps she flew in from another hangar that was controlled by the resistance.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 16:55, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
Extension[]
What does everyone think about extending the barn-burner through January, since the release isn't until February? MasterFred(Whatever) 08:21, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. I think that we did not have as much participation due to the fact it was held in December. Therefore, extending it through January should allow more people to participate.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 13:02, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm Corellian Premier, and I approve this option. Corellian PremierAll along the watchtower 16:20, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, being this time of year, people are traveling and doing things more important, so it's expected that participation would be low. I know the main thing that's stopping me right now is the series of CTs and SHs that apply to my hopeful FAN "Duel of the Fates." MasterFred(Whatever) 19:49, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

- Yes! Menkooroo 20:07, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I wanted to do at least one more, but I haven't had a chance yet. Hopefully, I'll get it done now.--Cal Jedi (Personal Comm Channel) 21:39, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Awesome. I'd say that's enough support to make it official. I'll let everyone know. MasterFred(Whatever) 21:42, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Yes I support, considering we technically still have one month until the release of the film in 3-D. Plus I still have six more fish to finish. :D -- Riffsyphon1024 01:48, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
