Can we make this ban-worthy offense? Or at least modify the VFD template to specifically say that the tag is not to be removed until the voting is closed? Because people have been simply removing the tags from pages lately, and some doing it repeatedly. We need to make it clear that this is not okay. -- Ozzel 21:56, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

  • It was only that one guy using sockpuppets, wasn't it? Anyway, I edited Template:Vfd, but didn't mention a penalty. We could treat it similarly to vandalism and add it to the blocking policy. —Silly Dan (talk) 22:24, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
    • You mean for Star Wars Trilogy: Unaltered? I didn't know socks were involved there. But it has also happened with Assembly line arm and Rillian. Anyway, the note on the tag is a start. I think a short ban, along with an additional note in the tag, is the way to go. -- Ozzel 22:33, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
      • I was thinking of this foolishness. —Silly Dan (talk) 00:13, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
        • That vote was riddled with sockpuppets, so there was more reason to go after those than the average pissed off user. -- Riffsyphon1024 13:44, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
          • Ya mean "average pissed off loser", dontcha? Anyway, unauthorized removal of VfD tags should be somehow punishable. KEJ 21:47, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
