Someone at NJOE.com has an early copy of Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice, so advance spoilers are likely to come in very soon. For those who wish to remain unsurprised, I would suggest avoiding all articles with the MajorSpoiler warning and, in particular, the articles for the novel, Darth Who and the major players of the LOTF storyline (Luke, Lumiya, Jacen, Leia, Han, etc). I am going to tag the page of every one in the DP to be safe. QuentinGeorge 12:16, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

  • And be circumspect while reading the Recent Changes page for the next few hours; someone deleted a page with several spoilers, and the Deletion Log dutifully logged the page's contents and has it all nice and visible for Recent Changes visitors . . . as I learned the hard way. :-( Specifically, stay away from timestamp 17:14 or so. jSarek 19:27, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Also, for anyone editing those pages and incorporating spoilers into the article, it's a nice idea to include {{spoiler}} and {{endspoiler}}. There's a major spoiler warning on the Sintas Vel article but having followed a recent changes link there, I did not notice the spoiler warning until after I'd read the single line of spoiler information at the bottom of the page. • Oh, and by the way, I do not care about remaining spoiler-free, as I don't read the novels, I just get summaries from here. So if anyone needs someone to do work on a page with spoilers, or something that may involve them, feel free to ask me. Chack Jadson 11:45, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Ahem, leaked Sacrifice info?! (merged)Edit

Why?.. I thought we had decided against it. - Sikon 15:15, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

  • We did. But apparently not everyone got the memo. jSarek 18:01, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
    • So, should we mass-revert it? Jacen Solo, Lumiya and related articles should be easy to enforce this decision on, but Darth Caedus is already referenced in oh-so-many articles... - Sikon 18:28, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
      • Reversion of the big spoilers should be done, yes. Considering how soon the book is coming out at this point, I'm not sure trying to revert every instance of Darth Caedus will be worth the effort, just to unrevert in a couple of weeks. It's not nearly the same sort of story-relevant spoiler that some of the other things are. jSarek 18:40, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

One thing to note: this is not censorship. We're not suppressing information for the sake of it. We're not going to remove Sacrifice spoilers from talk or forum pages. It's kept out of actual articles because it's unverifiable, and thus goes directly against our verifiability policy. - Sikon 18:31, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

  • This is nonsense. When was this decided, and why was this not circulated? Personally, I find it hard to follow a 'policy' that it seems at least two other adminds besides myself failed to be informed of. Just who did decide this 'policy'? Kuralyov 18:45, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Apparently, Sikon and I are both misremembering. I could've sworn we had a consensus not to add spoilers for unreleased works, but the only CT thread that I can find that addresses the issue was inconclusive. jSarek 18:57, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
      • I specifically remember it didn't pass, since I was the one that brought it up when we had this discussion over the Darth Bane book. QuentinGeorge 22:37, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Come on guys, someone take down the spoilers already! Nobody needs to know what Jacen Solo's Sith name is, or who he "sacrifices" for the name. Besides, the author might change her mind and give him an alternative name. And anybody who can't wait so much that they get a bootlegged copy of Sacrifice is not deserving of the series. I mean, I can't wait for the introduction of the next Dark Lord, but I'm not going to find out before the book comes out. Only chumps do that , and that we are not! • It's not a leak - they have the actual book. Capice? QuentinGeorge 23:02, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

  • By the way, it's not leaked - these people (and its quite a few, over at TFN and NJOE) bought the book legally. Besides, StarNeptune, one of our admins, has a copy, so verifiability isn't a problem. QuentinGeorge 23:02, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Well then, at least consider leaving out his Sith name and who he kills until the book officially comes out. Jedi Kasra
    • Why? QuentinGeorge 23:11, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Spoiler content is allowed per policy (MoS, Layout guide, & CT Spoilers) as long as there's a major spoiler warning at the top of article and the content is between spoiler tags. -Fnlayson 23:37, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Damn curiosity, I wish I hadn't read that. Are those spoilers comfirmed or unverified? Fatguy2006 23:40, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

    • They are confirmed, since several different people have the book, including our administator StarNeptune. QuentinGeorge 23:41, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
      • Forgive my ignorance, but how did they get these copies? Anyway, I say allow spoilers, just place warnings on said pages. All we can do really. Chack Jadson 23:43, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Damn.... oh well. I hope I forget that, by the time the book is released. Fatguy2006 23:44, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Stay away from any page with the majorspoiler logo on it and you'll still be surprised by enough stuff in Sacrifice, trust me. QuentinGeorge 23:46, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the re-assurence, Quentin Fatguy2006 23:48, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
  • So is the book officially out or not? I thought it was supposed to come out in June, not late May.--Jedi Kasra 00:27, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
