Forums > Senate Hall archive > SH Archive/Ship names - definite article and personal pronoun

So, are we supposed to have the definite article ("the") before ALL ship names? I know we have a policy on this and we decided we should have it, but there are still a lot of places where the article is omited.

Also, I think we also agreed that ships are not referred to as "she" at Wookieepedia (which is not Standard English, anyway). If there are no objections, I will try to change some "she" to "it" wherever I can find. - TopAce 20:15, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

  • I though it was just decided that we could write "the" before a ship name if it made the sentence flow better. I didn't think it was necessarily one way or the other. --Xwing328(Talk) 15:25, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
    • All I know is, "the Falcon" always has a "the" before it in the movies. Always. The Rebels nor the Empire ever just talk about Millennium Falcon. It's an awkward way to speak. -BaronGrackle 16:12, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
