  • So, we made the weekend web. I think that this is a cause to celebrate! I haven’t seen any mention of this anywhere else and I think that this is a huge accomplishment. An accomplishment that is worthy of at least some acknowledgement, I just hope that the vandalism doesn’t overwhelm us. Leader 15:40, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
  • They're internet nerds . . . on a website . . . making fun of internet nerds . . . on a website? The tendency of the human mind towards self-delusion and self-hatred never fails to amaze. Havac 19:27, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
    • But it’s so fun to make fun of people! They're just having a laugh. Plus it’s good to be able to laugh at yourself. They were more truthful than malicious anyway. Leader 20:14, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
      • I don't particularly care about it. But it reeks of insecurity and the need to affirm to themselves that there's someone worse than they are. Havac 20:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
        • You don't get it. --Imp ATATatarismall.png 20:56, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
          • Havac, that’s like saying the writers of SA are racists every time they use a racial slur… hmm that doesn’t sound to good… anyway you’re not supposed to take anything that they say seriously. And believe me they have nothing to be insecure about. I’m sure that some of the forum goons edit here and the writers often put star wars references in their articles. They had an article in the last week or so that was based in the sw galaxy for god’s sake! They aren’t hate mongering, hypocritical jerks. They’re funny. And if you don’t find it humorous then say so but there’s no need for you to state that they suffer from various shortcomings. That post itself was hypocritical. You state that they need to affirm to themselves that there's someone worse than they are but you yourself are defending yourself and other wookieepedians by making the SA writers look worse than we. • Considering they have a 39-page thread asking geeky Star Wars questions (sometimes even citing Wookieepedia), Leader's probably right. Still, we can at least laugh at them for spelling our name wrong. —Silly Dan (talk) 21:12, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
              • I don't have a problem with poking fun of Wookieepedia. We're geeks, we're free game. Making fun of Wank and such is all in good fun. It was the making fun of user profiles that I found rather mean-spirited. And I don't see how saying that makes my a hypocrite. I'm certainly not trying to make myself feel better about myself. And I'm not hugging you. :-P Havac 21:26, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
          • Fun? Humor? I don't find any. Pitiful attempts, maybe. On Encyclop*dia Dramatica's level. I don't know who finds crappy images, stereotypical "zomg losers!!!1!" comments and repeating the same message in UPPERCASE eleventy times funny, but I don't. - Sikon 04:48, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
            • And where do you see any of this on SomethingAwful? Leader 21:46, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
              • I'm with Sikon on this one. I've seen funnier soup can labels than that. Look at Superdickery. Very funny panels with, generally, uproariously deadpan labels from the guy who runs the site. This? Half-assed screenshots of mildly funny material with incredibly poor, un-funny descriptors. It's like listening to "that guy" who thinks he's hilarious but is just painfully bad at it instead. You want funny? Go to the QDB. Havac 22:59, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
                • I agree that the Wookieepedia one was rather lackluster but much of the stuff on SA is awesome. Leader 23:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I'm surpised this hadn't happened earlier. But I like SA so I guess I can't complain. Kuralyov 20:39, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I am honored that they would use me as an example user. I wear my uber-geek status as a badge of pride. Adamwankenobi 04:49, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I find it fairly offensive. *shrug* They are pathetic that they have to belittle others in order to cover for their own insecurities. - JMAS 17:34, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
    • The funny thing is that it's all true. They focused on how the users seem more into their pathetic little userpages rather then the site itself. And lets face it: it's true. Perhaps it's a sign that some of us, even the more respectable users, need to stop fooling around and get back to work. --RedemptionRedemptionusersymbolTalk 21:18, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
      • JMAS, just read my response to Havac. Leader 21:53, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
        • Redemption, yes, many people do focus most of their attention on their user pages, and that's sad, it's not what Wookieepedia is about. However, though it may appear that way with mine, less than 2% of my editing is done to my userpage.
        • Leader, I did read it. And that's a load of crap. It's entirely possible to have a little bit of teasing and poking fun at someone without being offensive. They were blantantly offensive.[Redacted by administration] - JMAS 22:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
          • Well, they have a look at your page and it's an easy shot. With that fanon lightsaber and that photoshoped image. You need to learn how to laugh it off. I can't believe I'm the one who has to say this but don't take it so seriously. --RedemptionRedemptionusersymbolTalk 23:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
