How do we deal with sources for things that have only appeared as toys? I'm specifically thinking of the Clone Walker here, which has only appeared as a lego toy, and in which the only source that has been given is lego.com, but I'm sure this must apply to some of the Hasbro toys as well, I just have no idea which ones. The Clone Walker certainly exists in that it's on the lego website (and I believe it may be in stores as well), but can it be considered canon if that's the only place it appears? If so, what should be listed as the source? DolukTalk 01:47, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- I think the rule of thumb is to cite the toy line the toy is in, but we really don't have hard and fast rules at this point, I don't think. Hopefully, Fourdot will poke his head in here - he's been tackling a lot of toy-related articles of late, and is thus probably our default expert on the topic. jSarek 03:17, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- The issue is, while Hasbro's toys are basen on canon, Lego video games, webcomics, short movies etc. are all spoof and non-canon; does that applies to Lego toys as well? Mauser 09:10, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, Leland Chee has stated here that all toys are C-canon. -- I need a name (Complain here) 13:47, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Well, he said toys are "C-canon except for the Lego alternate constructions", which is exactly the case of Clone Walker, I believe. Of course we should not speedy it, but simply mark it with Template:Noncanon instead. Mauser 14:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

- Consider the Droid Factory astromechs and protocol droids that Hasbro has been releasing lately. Those are all canon. -- Riffsyphon1024 14:09, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, I think when Leland says "Lego alternate constructions" he isn't referring to sets like the Clone Walker which represent vehicles not seen elsewhere. I think he's referring to the alternate ways the Lego packaging shows you can assemble the contents of the set. I could be wrong, though. DolukTalk 17:56, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yah, the best thing to do will be to source these to the relevant toy lines. LEGO I'm not sure about, but I'll worry about it when I've done the rest of the lines. I'm only up to the 2000 line so far, but I'm getting there. :P Thefourdotelipsis 21:52, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
