Is it crazy idea to create some ranks to give to wookipedians? TMOFFT 17:14, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Ranks? We already have Administrators and Bureaucrats. --Imp ATATatarismall.png 17:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I already know those, I meant more ranks - 1,2 or 3. TMOFFT 17:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Why would you want to do this? tzzA 18:39, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I don't really want more ranks. I only aksed what others say about that idea. TMOFFT 18:43, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Maybe its better to keep these old good ranks! DARTH SIDIOUS2 18:52, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Then why would you ask? Anyway, I really dislike this idea, and I think most of the community will too. Chack Jadson 19:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

This would be sort of like a caste system and just seperarate people. No thanks.. -Fnlayson 19:08, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I hereby pronounce myself Supreme High Grand Imperial Dark Lord Moff. QuentinGeorge 00:42, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Good idea! I see you, and raise you with a JackSarek Kwennbulax Sikonlly Dan Riff-Wing328. Whoa! With a title like that, I feel up to running this place by myself. XD DarthMRN 02:17, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
    • You would be stuck in an endless loop of reverting yourself. At any rate, I declare myself Silver Saucier. .... 04:24, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • You want ranks? Go to the stats page and you can see that Kura rules all. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:31, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
I consistently refer to my Veers-led group of AT-AT walkers by their Blizzard call-sign when playing Force of Corruption. Does that make me weird? --School of Thrawn 101 04:36, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Kneel before me! No, seriously: wouldn't it be fun if we could make up some kind of ranking structure based on contributions? E g, you become a Grand Admiral when you have performed 10,000 edits or something like that? It wouldn't give you any special privileges other than the prestige the rank would carry, but still... Just an idea. And, of course, we'd need more detailed rules to prevent cheating. Lord High Grand Supreme Imperial Master Arch-Sorcerer of the Dark Side Daal III
      • Yeah like wikipedia's service badges! It is actually a great idea. I might even make the page if I get time. With badges based upon Imperial and Rebel badges. Chief Captain 01:13, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
  • I'm already a god. Of what use would this be to me? --Thy Immortal, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omnivorous God
    • No way! If it was based on contribs, people would start contributing one word or letter at a time in order to increase their rank, and there is no good way of policing such activity. The VOTM will have to suffice. DarthMRN 09:45, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
      • I agree, edit counting is not a reliable way to identify valuable contributors. - Sikon 10:06, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
      • OK, I can see the limitations of such a system, it would need some additional work. Control of "useful" edits by a jury, perhaps? Or would that be too difficult and time-consuming to implement? Evir Daal 14:13, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
        • Wikipedia has it's service badges which work the same way. The ranks/service badges are just a fun way to show your experenice, wether good or bad. The ranks wouldn't hold any power or count as credentials or anything, they would just be there for fun. Chief Captain 14:00, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
  • And the award for most useless idea ever goes to... --School of Thrawn 101 04:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Lol. Anyway, this idea has no future. Let's forget about it. We don't need additional ranks. Chack Jadson 14:42, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
