Where would I go about proposing a new template? I've checked both the template page and the page where the proposed template would go (if accepted), but neither have a page for proposals (at least not one like the Userbox Proposals page). • I'm going to hijack this thread since I have a similar question, and a relevant comment.

Silly_Dan and I have been talking (relevant conversation can be found here) about a lack of perfection in the current {{Verify}} and {{Sources}} tags. I've found several articles lately (mostly of new creation, but some otherwise) that listed sources which either I thought were incorrect or were obviously totally bogus. I suggested this template as a possibility to Silly_Dan to use in such circumstances. I've been told that originally the {{Verify}} was for this, but that tag specifically says that the article has NO sources or appearances. Similarly, {{Sources}} says that it just needs MORE sources, and doesn't link to the relevant talk page, so more than likely nobody is going to check to see if someone has written an explanation there that they think a source is just plain wrong. Therefore, I'm proposing we either edit the two templates we have, or begin using the new one I've suggested (or a variation of it- this is simply an idea that may need reworking and/or rewording). And while Silly_Dan decided this probably needed community approval, before we get all formal about it and make a Consensus Track of the thing, anybody else have any thoughts? • That template looks pretty good. I'm busy working on one in the sandbox that deals with too many images in an article (comparative to the amount of text - see Force lightning and its GA nomination). All I need now is a good picture of Luke in the stormtrooper outfit, or a good quality of the stormtrooper bumping his head. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 15:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Just thought of another two that we could use: A Vanity Page message. Works sort of like the speedy tag, only it suggests to move to the creator's userpage. The other would be a Copied from Another Webpage one, that would work like the copywrite infringement, only not as harsh or severe. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 22:10, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Wow, I cannot believe it took me so long to find {{potentialVanity}}. Still could use some work on expansion though. Also, came up with another good template idea for short character articles that have enough information for a larger article. Basically, it works like an exclusive {{doom}} category for character articles. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 08:34, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Oh yeah, And in reference to the above comment that Jorrel Fraajic made, I'm guessing the current proper place would be Consensus Track? We probably should have a general template proposal system like the Userbox one (and if we do, would somebody tell me where it is?) Wildyoda 15:43, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
    • We don't need a whole new system just for templates. We already have most of the ones we need, and new ones (or revisions) can easily be brought up in the Consensus Track. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
