If I see a page with profanity or other inappropriate things on it who do I report it to. 16:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

  • You would report it to an administrator. What is the page in question? StarNeptuneTalk to me! 16:57, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Profanity is not against the rules of this wiki, so you cannot report it. Lord Patrick 03:00, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

  • It is if you're using against another editor; see WP:CIVIL. StarNeptuneTalk to me! 03:07, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
    • You cannot touch this. .... 03:11, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Profanity should not be used against other users. If it is and is recent, an administrator should warn the user and then take appropriate action if it continues. Profanity, aside from direct quotes, should not appear in articles or Wookieepedia pages. The appropriate response then would be to remove it or revert the article as it is mostly been vandalized. The user in question is User:Mike Kazz one of his info boxes the bottom one to be exact. It says "This user thinks Mace Windu has had ehnough of these mother****ing snakes on this mother****ing plane".The bad spelling is his not mine 08:43, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Just...Mike Kazz. But that's not an attack. .... 08:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Not just him. A lot of others to but the language in the infobox should not be on their. I am not attacking Him or anything like that its just stuff like that is unacceptable. 10:18, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
  • I have put forward my concerns to a few administrators so I hope that will be enough 11:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
    • I'll just readdress what I already put on your talk page. There's really nothing we can or should do. It's not against the rules to use profanity on your user page. He's not attacking anyone, and he's only using it in a humorous way. My advice is to just stop going to pages that offend you, especially users that haven't contributed for over half a year. Cull Tremayne 11:53, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I can agree to using some profanity in humor but nothing harsh like "Mother****ing. I have a little sister and she watches me on the computer sometimes. And I would not want her to see that because she's to young to know if words like those are okay to say.Like how would you like it if you have/had siblings to young to know if words like that are appropriate in every day conversation and then use them so casualy. 12:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Do not read user pages when she is around, then. - TopAce 12:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Probably good advice. User pages are a little looser as far as what users feel free to discuss and what language to use. Some users go off on long rants about controversial (non-Star Wars) subjects that definitely aren't safe for minors. But the main entries are OK, and the various voting pages, though crude at times, are PG-13 at worst. ^_^ Enochf 12:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
    • No offense, but seriously now. It's not like that was in big bold letters on a user page, now that I could see us perhaps resizing, but in a user box in extremely small size print? You cannot tell me that your "little sister" has such a keen eye and such a developed reading ability that she would be able to read over your shoulder and see those "harsh" words. Anyhow, what exactly are you doing viewing such a page? As has been said, he has not contributed for over half a year. There's no reason you should be going to such a page. Cull Tremayne 12:29, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
  • If you are serious in wanting to protect your siblings or children from profanities, then may I suggest you use a profanity filter such as this? --Azizlight 12:32, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree with you "Enochf" but those words are not exactly PG-13 they are more like R or NC-17 12:38, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

  • That's what I mean. User pages have the potential for R language. Encyclopedia entries are pretty much safe for all eyes... well, there is that Kit Fisto-Aayla Secura picture. ^_^ The talk pages and user-participation threads sometimes contain profanity, but it's discouraged by other users if it gets too extreme. I do seem to recall a debate a few months ago about whether a Harrison Ford quote with the F-word should reach the front page as quote of the day. I was outvoted, and it got there. But that's one out of hundreds. Enochf 12:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank You for the link Azizlight I think I will try that. 12:41, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

And what picture is that? 12:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

O that picture. 13:02, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

  • I really hate profanity...--SWME *bugged*
Note to myself: stay away from sites with potential R-rated laguage...--SWME *still bugged*

With all due respect, I think it is quite childish to get all pent up about a few words. They are just jumbles of letters expressing sentiment. Lord Patrick 00:40, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

  • If you don't like foul language, don't read it. Besides, to ban the F-word would also mean to ban everything else, and I don't want frack and kark taken away from me. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:47, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I fooking agree with you. Profanity is a gaddamn fooking natural part of language, and no motherfooker can take that sheet away!!! As long as profanity doesn't fooking occur in the articles, users can use as many fooking profane expressions on their motherfooking talk pages as they fooking want.... so long as they don't attack other fooking users or flag their fooking religions and attack other fooking religions, ethnicities and so fooking on. • I'm confused, whats this about contributing for half a year? Is that when we get a cookie? If so, someone owes me a damn cookie. Lonnyd 08:08, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
    • No, Kazz hasn't contributed in over half a year. Jasca Ducato Sith Council Sith Campaign 09:21, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Oh, I get it now. But now I'm hungry for cookies. Lonnyd 10:22, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
        • I'd rather play who's got the cookie than pile on the prude ^_^ Enochf 10:24, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Well, if there is no rule about people butting R-rated text in theyr user page, there realy should be one. And personaly I think Wookieepedia is full of thouse things, and non fair use pictures on user pages. But I'm no expert on fair use, so, there you go. --Steinninn 14:14, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
