- "Remember Fray!"
- ―A rallying cry inspired by the memorial
Fray Landing Memorial was a memorial established at the site of the Galactic Republic's Fray Landing Base on the planet Ilum to commemorate the lives lost at the base during the early days of the Battle of Ilum, when Imperial forces overran Fray Landing. The memorial was built by other Republic soldiers when they reclaimed the base, and the battle there helped Supreme Chancellor Leontyne Saresh secure a massive increase in military spending.
Behind the scenesEdit
Fray Landing Memorial was introduced in Game Update 1.7 in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game released by BioWare and LucasArts. It serves as an in-universe reference to the early days of player-vs-player combat on the planet Ilum in January 2012, when combat imbalance between the two factions allowed Imperial players were able to repeatedly push all the way into Fray Landing Base, the then-unnamed Republic base, after Game Update 1.1. Republic players were immediately killed by mobs of Imperials upon respawning in the base, necessitating an emergency patch to fix the issue.
