During the escape from the prison known as The Citadel, warden Osi Sobeck released a pack of anooba to track down the fugitives. During the anooba attack, one severely injured Even Piell. Before he died he was able to give the Nexus Route information to Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka brought back Piell's dead body and the surviving members of the team, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, CT-7567, CC-2224, CT-27-5555, Ahsoka, Wilhuff Tarkin, R2-D2 and two of Piell's naval officers held a funeral for him on the planet of Lola Sayu where Anakin and Obi-Wan used the Force to put his corpse into one of the streams of lava and watched until it disappeared.
