Fusion generators,[1] also known as fusion reactors,[2] or fusion facilities,[3] or fusion power core[4] were a type of generator capable of creating power. GNK-series power droids were built with internal fusion generators.[1] By the time of the early Empire, it was considered obsolete for a droid to be powered with this type of energy.[4]

Beneath the assembly complex on the planet Anaxes was a fusion reactor that, if destroyed, would obliterate much of the world. In pursuing his strategy of total annihilation of Galactic Republic forces during the Battle of Anaxes in 19 BBY, Separatist Alliance Admiral Trench nearly detonated the reactor with a bomb he had pre-installed at the site when Jedi General Mace Windu, using the disarming sequence for the bomb provided by clone trooper Echo and fellow Jedi General Anakin Skywalker from the orbiting warship Invulnerable, safely stopped the countdown.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Fusion generators were first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends core rule book for the first edition of the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, which was released in 1987. They were confirmed to be canon under the name fusion reactor when they appeared in "Unfinished Business" an episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series released on StarWars.com in 2014 as part of The Clone Wars Legacy. The name fusion generator was then also reinstated as canon by the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and released in 2015.[source?]
