LMCTS-24542 was a space station built by the Lant Mining Corporation during the Galactic Civil War.

Located in the Brak Sector, the station was used for testing materials, but produced little returns for the corporation. Despite this, Lant Mining kept LMCTS-24542 in operation for years, earning it the nickname Futility Station. After upper management learned of the station's low output, the staff was fired and the facility abandoned.

The station drifted until it Rebel Alliance agents located the facility, brought it back up to operating capacity and converted into their headquarters in the Brak Sector.
