Gala was a beautiful and wealthy world at one point ruled by the Beju-Tallah dynasty. It was fairly close to Phindar.
History[]
The Galacians native to the planet were divided into three adversarial tribes: the city people, the sea people, and the hill people. After the death of King Cana, Queen Veda realized that the monarchy was growing weaker, and that the people wanted democratic elections. She relented, and held an election in 44 BBY. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi were sent to help the elections run smoothly. They foiled a plot by Lonnag Giba, head of the Council of Ministers, to seize control of the government. Wila Prammi was elected first Governor.[2]
The local defense force used Galan starfighters. Such a fighter was given to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.[5] During the Clone Wars, the planet was located within Separatist space.[3]
