The Third Fleet of the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet was one of the main concentrations of Alliance capital ships during the latter portion of the Yuuzhan Vong War. It was formed out of the New Republic Third Battle Group.

HistoryEdit

Initially under the command of General Wedge Antilles, the Third Fleet was deployed along the Alliance-held portions of the Hydian Way, deploying during the Liberation of Coruscant via the Shawken Spur during the battle. Following the end of the war and the subsequent peace, the Third Fleet was redeployed to patrol other regions of the galaxy, leaving the newly assembled Fifth Fleet to patrol the vast expanse of the Hydian Way. It was based at the General Crix Madine Military Reserve.

During the Second Galactic Civil War, the Third Fleet was assigned to the blockade of Corellia. It was under the command of Admiral Makin. A task force of the Third Fleet fought at the Second Battle of Fondor.
