The Galderians were a group that were active in the galaxy by the time of the High Republic Era. At some point, the leader of the Nihil marauder organization—Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—witnessed the Chadra-Fan doctor Kisma Uttersond construct torture devices that would make a Galderian salivate.[1] In 231 BBY,[2] Ro thought about Uttersond's past actions and how members of the group would enjoy them.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, Galderians were first mentioned in the 2021 novel The High Republic: The Rising Storm, written by Cavan Scott[1] for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[3] Galderians—as a sentient species—were first introduced in "Strange Bedfellows," a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game adventure released in Shadis 14 of the Shadis magazine. The adventure was written by John Zinser and published in the magazine's July–August 1994 issue. The issue's illustrations of Galderians were drawn by James King. However, the species' canonicity with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity was never confirmed since it was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process.[4]
