"I will take what Jedi we have left and go to Geonosis and help Obi-Wan."
―Mace Windu — (audio) Listen (file info)[2]

Galdos Stouff was the Jedi Padawan of the Weequay Sora Bulq. In 22 BBY, both were part of the Jedi assault team that traveled to the planet Geonosis to rescue the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi from Separatist execution. Bulq and Stouff defeated a dozen guards in the stands of the Petranaki Arena during the battle, but there were many Jedi casualties, and several days later, Padawan Iskat Akaris realized she had not seen Stouff since the battle.

Biography[]

"My fellow Jedi, the Battle of Geonosis marked a great tragedy for the Jedi Order. We sent hundreds of Jedi into the Petranaki arena. We brought back only twenty-nine."
―Mace Windu[3]

Galdos Stouff was a Force-sensitive Padawan of the Jedi Order—guardians of the Galactic Republic—who served as the apprentice to the Weequay Jedi Sora Bulq.[1] In 22 BBY,[4] both Stouff and Bulq were selected to be part of an assault team[1] of 212 Jedi led by Jedi Master Mace Windu to the planet Geonosis[5] to rescue Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was to be executed after having been captured spying on the leaders of the then–newly formed Confederacy of Independent Systems. Stouff and Bulq were deployed to the stands of the Geonosian Petranaki Arena where the execution of Kenobi, his apprentice Anakin Skywalker, and Republic Senator Padmé Amidala, was taking place. The duo defeated a dozen encircling guards during the battle there,[1] with Bulq ultimately ending up surrounded in a circle of surviving Jedi on the arena floor.[2]

Galdos Stouff's master, Sora Bulq (center-right), was among those who survived the Battle of Geonosis.

The arrival of the new Grand Army of the Republic led to a Republic victory and resulted in the rescue of Kenobi, Skywalker, Amidala, and Bulq,[2] but of the hundreds of Jedi deployed to the arena, only twenty-nine returned,[3] including Bulq.[6] In the days following the battle, Padawan Iskat Akaris realized that she had not seen Stouff or the Padawans Tan Yuster and Lumas since Geonosis while in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant thinking about how many Jedi had been lost.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

In the current Star Wars canon, Galdos Stouff was first mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations. It was part of material reprinted[1] from Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, a 2003 reference book written by Simon Beecroft and Curtis Saxton that marked the first mention of the character in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[7]
