This lightsaber was created by Sith Acolyte Galen Marek during his service under Lord Darth Vader. It saw use in many battles.

Marek’s first lightsaber appeared to be based on the design utilized by Darth Vader, featuring an emitter shroud and a mostly solid casing. However, rather than follow the over-sized, bulky design of his master’s weapon,[1] Marek opted for a considerably more skeletal make. His weapon featured an exposed crystal chamber, and rather than include a handgrip, the whole of the weapon was sheathed in somewhat tarnished looking bare-metal.[2] The blade utilized a set of red crystals supplied by Vader.[3]

Early useEdit
After creation by Galen Marek, the lightsaber was used for training duels between Marek and his droid PROXY. As a young man, Marek once ordered PROXY to chain him up and not give him food or water until he could take apart and rebuild the lightsaber using only the Force. He did not succeed, and PROXY was forced to release him from his bonds.
At one point, Marek undertook a mission to the Yuzzem homeworld Ragna III. Prior to the mission, Darth Vader sabotaged his lightsaber, forcing him to fight the Yuzzem only with his Force powers.

Battle of the TIE Construction FacilityEdit

Marek later used the lightsaber to kill many Stormtroopers and troopers of Rahm Kota's militia during the Battle of the TIE Fighter Construction Facility. Fighting his way through the facility, Marek destroyed at least one AT-CT, as well as an All Terrain Scout Transport. When he arrived at the facility's command center, he used the lightsaber in a duel with Jedi General Rahm Kota. Marek then proceeded to blind Kota by pushing his own blade back into his face with his lightsaber.
Trial of SkillEdit
After defeating Kota, Marek went to the Jedi Temple at Vader's urging. There, he fought through Imperial troopers and Imperial Senate Sentinels before coming face to face with a holocron of the ancient Pau'an Sith Lord Darth Desolous. Marek dueled the holocron before using the Force to bring down a statue, smashing the holocron.
This lightsaber was lost when Vader stabbed Marek and he was blown out into space.
