Galidraan was a planet of snow-capped mountains and large pine forests, and was controlled by a planetary governor, who resided in an opulent castle in the midst of a forest.
During the last decades of the Galactic Republic, Galidraan was the site of the Battle of Galidraan. Master Dooku, Padawan Komari Vosa, and other Jedi were tricked into slaughtering the True Mandalorians on Galidraan in 34 BBY, although a single Mandalorian, Jango Fett, survived, returning to the planet two years later to reclaim his armor.
