"With the shield down the planetary defenses can take care of the rest!"
―Skywalker explains to Tano that their work on Gall is done[1]

A planetary defense force existed on the planet Gall during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. They fought the Separatist Droid Army during the battle fought on Gall during the war, but needed aid from the Jedi to defeat them.

Description[]

A military force defended the planet Gall. They wore green armor and made use of artillery and starships in their forces.[1]

History[]

"Our blasters can't penetrate the shield, but the droids are having no problem blasting us to shreds through it!"
―The sergeant describes the battle to Tano and Skywalker[1]

During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, a battle was fought on Gall between the two forces, with the defense force siding with the Republic, fighting the Separatist Droid Army invading their homeworld. The force made use of artillery and a number of starships in their defense, but could not damage the C-9979 landing craft that the Separatists were using due to a shield protecting the vehicles. The shield did not prevent the Separatists firing on the defense force however, and their fire began reducing their numbers. A sergeant serving in the defense force complained of the issue to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, who had been sent by the Republic to help in the battle, and the pair of Jedi then used jet-wings vehicles to penetrate the shields and destroy the lead Separatist craft, which was generating the shield. With the shield down the Jedi then let the defense forces finish off the vulnerable Separatists left.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The force first appeared in Inside Job a comic written by Rik Hoskin and illustrated by Andres Ponce, which was published in 2009 in issue 6.1 of of the Star Wars Comic UK magazine series.
