"Our blasters can't penetrate the shield, but the droids are having no problem blasting us to shreds through it!"
―A sergeant describes the starships' failure[src]

A model of silver-and-blue colored starfighter was used by the planetary defense force of the moon Gall. They were built with two wings, blaster cannons, and at least one cockpit for a pilot. During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a battle was fought on Gall in which the defense forces sided with the Republic. The starfighters were used to defend against the Separatist Droid Army attacking the moon, which included Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid, Mark Is, a make of droid starfighter used by the Separatists. The fighter's blasters could not penetrate the shields generated by the Separatists' lead craft, which also protected a number of C-9979 landing craft. A sergeant in the defense force reported the problem to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, who then managed to disable the shields, allowing the defense forces to defeat the Separatists.[1]

Behind the scenes

The starfighters first appeared, although were not named, in Inside Job, a 2009 comic written by Rik Hoskin and illustrated by Andres Ponce, which was published in issue 6.1 of the Star Wars Comic UK magazine series.
