Galtea was a planet located within the Kathol sector, and lay on the edge of the Marcol Void.

GeographyEdit

Covered in lush forests, mountain ranges and fertile plains, Galtea had at least two continents. The population of the planet was mainly located on the northern continent, and most of the plains on this continent were cultivated for agricultural use. The planet only had a limited services starport that contained a farmer's market and merchant's bazaar on the northernmost continent, and a small Imperial outpost on the southern continent.

HistoryEdit

Galtea was settled as an argicultural colony, and was at the limits of Imperial control. As a result, the native Galteans were allowed some measure of freedom and autonomy by the Empire in return for access to the planet's natural resources. Galtea was considered politically neutral, and the population were strongly indifferent to galactic politics. They catered to anyone who had hard currency to spend. They were ruled by mining and agricultural guilds, and the Empire's power was limited to the outpost on the southern continent.

Before striking out across the Marcol Void, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar mad a layover on the planet to replenish its supplies and perform maintenance and necessary repairs. While on the planet, the Imperial spy codenamed Wraith relayed the location of the FarStar to a roving Imperial fleet allied to Moff Kentor Sarne. The FarStar was forced to raise from the planet, temporarily leaving a number of the crew behind, and engage the Imperials in the Battle of Galtea.
