- "I'm a walking nerve cluster."
- ―Durge
The Gen'Dai were a seemingly immortal species with distributed nervous and vascular systems, which lacked bones. Lacking the vulnerable vital organs of most races, including hearts, and lungs, Gen'Dai could take extreme injuries and even complete dismemberment, and survive. If a Gen'Dai took too many injuries, they underwent an extended period of hibernation, during which they could regenerate. However, they could be permanently killed when vaporized or completely pulverized.

Gen'Dai tended to be mostly non-aggressive. They were rarely seen, as their homeworld was lost for ages. Though nearly immortal, the minds of Gen'Dai would weaken with age, making them vulnerable to various mental diseases.
Gen'Dai had a life-span of over 4,000 years, some even recorded to live over 7,000. Due to the nature of their nervous systems, they had extreme sensory acuity, to the point of being able to feel a Human's heartbeat from ranges of up to 200 meters.
A well known Gen'Dai was the bounty hunter and Confederacy of Independent Systems commander, Durge. Active during the events of the Cold War two other Gen'Dai were recorded by the galactic history : the leader of the Nar Shaddaa anti-Imperial resistance The Flame [1] and The Locust, a thug present on Taris during it's reconstruction by the Galactic Republic.[3]
