Genndy Tartakovsky was the director of the first three seasons of the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series. His best known works outside of Star Wars are the animated shows The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack. He insisted on being a director in the new 3D continuation of The Clone Wars but the request was declined.

The alien species Gen'Dai is named after his first name. The Wookiee Tarkov is named after his last name.
