The Gibbon was a Republic Tector-class Star Destroyer that fought in the Clone Wars.

HistoryEdit

The ship was one of a handful of vessels scheduled to do live-fire exercises before full production of the class was to begin. While stationed at Handooine, the ship was infected with a computer virus by CIS saboteurs. At the battle of Salvara, the virus replicated itself and infected other ships in the task force, leading them to lower their shields when within range of the enemy. The battle was a disaster for the Republic and contributed to the stalling of the Tector-class's formal deployment.
