Gideon Na'al was the son of Voren Na'al and Rivoche Tarkin, named after his mother's father, Gideon Tarkin. Na'al co-wrote the thesis Star Maps and Scripts: The Rakata Connection, along with Doctor Henrietya Antilles. The work focused on how archeological discoveries linked many contemporary writing systems to those used by the Rakata.
