A gladiator droid was a droid designed for close-quarters combat and gladiator entertainment in the declining days of the Galactic Republic. Gladiator droids were used in violent sporting events involving other droids or even living creatures. Because it could still function without its legs and torso, it was extremely difficult to destroy. It had an incredible arsenal of weapons and a considerably high intelligence. Dash Rendar was forced to battle one in Prince Xizor's palace.
