The Glass key was a piece of a technology crafted by the ancient extinct race from the Inner Rim planet Simocadia. It was used to activate and control Ardana Shadex, immense stone giants that could topple mountains. During the Clone Wars Prince Yojan used one such key to activate an Ardana Shadex and destroy the agrocite mines. However, the key was damaged by the Jedi Master Mace Windu, who was attempting to stop Yojan, and the giant went out of control. The Jedi and the prince decided to work together to disable the enormous machine: Mace went to retrieve the key, while Yojan went inside the Ardana Shadex through its mouth and used the key to activate the dead switch. The resulting explosions destroyed the giant, killing the prince who was still inside it.
