Gold Leader or Gold One was the call sign of the Commander of Gold Squadron. There were a number of starfighter squadrons with this name, and several beings went by the name "Gold Leader."

History

Galactic Republic

During the Battle of Muunilinst in 22 BBY, a Gold Leader was commanding Gold Squadron. He was killed by incoming Geonosian starfighters.

Anakin Skywalker had the call sign Gold Leader during the Battle of Bothawui.

During the Battle of Boz Pity, Jedi General Saesee Tiin commanded Gold Squadron.

Rebel Alliance

The call sign was used by Jon "Dutch" Vander when he flew with the Rebel Alliance's Gold Squadron during the Battle of Yavin. Vander was killed in the assault against the Death Star.

Crix Madine served as Gold Leader during the Liberation of Gerrard V in 1 ABY.

Lando Calrissian was Gold Leader during the Battle of Endor while commanding Gold Squadron, the group that assaulted and destroyed the second Death Star.

Alliance of Free Planets

Calrissian also served as Gold Leader during the Second Battle of Endor. There the Alliance repelled the Nagai fighter squadrons led by Lumiya.

New Republic

During a simulation exercise to qualify for Wedge Antilles's new squadron, Kell Tainer used the callsign of Gold One.
