Goroth Prime was the Gorothite homeworld, located on the border with the Outer Rim Territories.
[edit] Description
Goroth Prime had varied terrain, and was unusual in that hyperbarides were naturally found in its crust.
[edit] History
The natives had reached a feudal state around 100,000 BBY. The planet was discovered by Ithorians and Corellians 8,000 BBY. The Gorothites developed hyperdrive 7,600 BBY and joined the Republic 7,500 BBY.
The planet had many Corellian and Aqualish miners, betwixt whom a civil war erupted 4,000 BBY. It was at this time that local governor Matri Bey created D'Jar'Min. In 3,996 BBY, the war resulted in the devastation of the planet by asteroid weapon bombardment.
During the 100 years prior to the Battle of Yavin, the capital Graith suffered three devastating groundquakes, and an groundquake also hit J'Lan.
In 17 BBY, the planet was enslaved by the Galactic Empire under Governor Marsh Limoth and Moff Nebin Cray, the new governor of the planet. In opposition, the Night Wind resistance arose. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, the Rebel Alliance saved Night Wind from destruction by Limoth in Operation: Starbird.
