Grand Dune

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

The Grand Dune is located near Nefta. It is the largest dune in the area, and is famous among Star Wars fans for being featured in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope as R2-D2 and C-3PO crash land in the Dune Sea on Tatooine and later a few stormtroopers find traces of their crash. Note that the stormtrooper sequence was extended in the Special Edition with shots from Yuma Desert.
